Executive Summary

India’s Official Youngest Vanlife Couple, Beaches & Biceps, have built a unique lifestyle around fitness, travel, and adventure. Living full-time in a camper van, they promote healthy living, responsible tourism, and authentic storytelling while inspiring a new generation to embrace freedom without compromising on wellness. In this exclusive interview, they discuss the rise of vanlife in India, the realities of life on the road, their travel experiences, and their vision of taking Indian vanlife across the world.

Welcome to Corporate Impact! Here is the inspiring interview with the vanlife couple called Beaches & Biceps, who have managed to reinvent how to travel without settling for less. The story of two people, who wondered why being healthy and active seems to be incompatible with traveling, is now developing into a unique concept based on one principle – health always comes first, wherever you go.

Exercising at sunrise in unknown places, doing yoga while having a long drive and living the free life with health as the main focus, Beaches & Biceps have shown how to combine two apparently incompatible things.

In this exclusive interaction with Rashmeet Chawla, they talk about how their passion fueled their vision, how their mindset helps them to be consistent along the way, and what makes them feel that true exploration begins from self-care. Dive in as they reveal their journey behind Beaches & Biceps – a lifestyle of fitness, freedom, and adventure.

Q1. Beaches & Biceps combines fitness and travel perfectly. How did this idea come to life, and what is the core passion behind it?

For both of us, fitness has always been more than just working out—it’s a way of life. Before starting our vanlife journey, we noticed that many young people, and even society in general, were struggling with unhealthy lifestyles. Poor eating habits, smoking, drinking, and a lack of physical activity have become increasingly common. At the same time, it’s encouraging to see more youngsters embracing fitness, and we wanted to contribute to that positive change.

Our vision was simple: to inspire people to prioritize both health and exploration. Instead of choosing between fitness and travel, we decided to combine them. Vanlife became the perfect way to show that no matter where you are, your health should never take a back seat.

We strongly believe that travel requires fitness. The healthier and stronger you are, the more confidently you can explore the world. Through our journey, we want to prove that even with long drives, changing destinations, and an unconventional lifestyle, it’s still possible to stay committed to your fitness goals.

Every day, we make time for workouts, yoga, and mindful eating. We follow a balanced, high-protein diet, and one thing we’re especially proud of is that we haven’t consumed refined sugar for the past eight years. We never promote unhealthy habits in our content because we want to inspire people with a lifestyle that is both adventurous and sustainable.

At its heart, Beaches & Biceps is about proving that you don’t have to sacrifice your health to chase your dreams. We want people to see that even when life gets busy or challenging, taking care of yourself should always remain a priority. Our mission is to inspire others to live a life that is fit, free, and full of adventure.

Q2. Vanlife is still very new to India. Based on your extensive road trip experience, how do you see this unique travel culture evolving in our country?

Vanlife is definitely still in its early stages in India. From our experience of traveling across the country, we’ve realized that while the concept is new, the curiosity around it is incredible. Almost everywhere we go, people are surprised to see that we actually live in a van. They ask us countless questions about our lifestyle, how we manage daily life, and why we chose this path. For many, it’s difficult to understand why someone would leave the comfort of city life to live in a compact space and travel full-time.

One thing that has surprised us the most is how many Indians are already embracing vanlife. Through our journey, we’ve met young couples, families with children, solo travelers, and even retired people living and traveling in camper vans. Many of them aren’t content creators—they’re simply following a lifestyle they genuinely love. This shows that the interest in vanlife is much bigger than most people imagine.

The biggest challenge isn’t the people—it’s the infrastructure. India still lacks dedicated campsites, legal overnight parking spaces, and basic facilities designed for camper vans. In countries where vanlife is well established, travelers have access to safe paid campsites, community spaces, and government-supported infrastructure. In India, even without these facilities, people are still choosing this lifestyle, which speaks volumes about the passion and enthusiasm of the community.

We believe the future of vanlife in India is very promising. If the government and private sector invest in safe campsites, proper facilities, and clear regulations for camper travelers, this community can grow tremendously. India has some of the most diverse landscapes in the world, making it an ideal destination for road travel. With the right support, vanlife could become a mainstream way of exploring the country, encouraging responsible tourism, supporting local businesses, and inspiring more people to experience the freedom of life on the road.

We truly believe that this movement is only getting started, and we’re excited to be among the people helping introduce vanlife to India.

Q3. Living out of a camper van sounds amazing, but what are the daily challenges you face—especially with safety, breakdowns, and finding the right place to park your vehicle?

Vanlife looks dreamy on social media, but the reality is very different. Along with the beautiful views and freedom, there are daily challenges that most people never get to see.

The biggest challenge we face is finding a safe place to park our van for the night. Unlike many other countries, India doesn’t yet have dedicated camper van campsites or a proper parking network for vanlifers. Because of this, we often have to speak with local people, request permission to park, and carefully judge whether a place feels safe. Every state, district, and village is different. Some places are extremely welcoming, while others are not.

Finding the right spot can sometimes take hours, days, or even a week. There are times when we discover a safe location every evening without much effort, and there are other times when we spend several days searching. It completely depends on the area and a bit of luck. After living this lifestyle for a long time, we can confidently say that finding a safe parking spot is the biggest challenge of vanlife in India.

Safety is another important aspect. We are always alert and take every precaution before deciding where to stay. Our fitness-focused lifestyle also plays a role here. Staying physically fit gives us confidence, mental strength, and the ability to handle unexpected situations while travelling. For us, fitness isn’t just about health—it’s also about being prepared for life’s uncertainties on the road.

Vehicle breakdowns do happen, but surprisingly, they are not the biggest concern. Mechanical problems can usually be repaired with the help of a local mechanic or roadside assistance. The real challenge is finding a secure place where we can peacefully spend the night and continue our journey the next day.

Vanlife has taught us that freedom comes with responsibility. It isn’t always easy, but overcoming these challenges is what makes the journey so rewarding and memorable.

Q4. Nutrition is a huge part of your brand. How do you manage clean cooking and stay fit inside a tiny house with a small kitchen and limited water?

For us, healthy eating didn’t begin with vanlife—it has been our lifestyle for the past 10 years. Long before we started living in a camper van, we were already preparing our own meals, following a balanced, high-protein diet, and staying consistent with our fitness routine. Vanlife didn’t change our habits; it simply changed where we cook and live.

One thing we always tell people is that healthy cooking is actually much easier than most people think. You don’t need a large kitchen or fancy equipment to eat well. In fact, many nutritious meals can be prepared in just 10–15 minutes. Simple options like omelettes, boiled eggs, protein-rich sandwiches, oats, poha, grilled vegetables, or rice with a good protein source are quick, wholesome, and easy to make. Sometimes, preparing a healthy meal is even simpler than cooking an elaborate traditional meal.

Although our kitchen is compact, it has everything we truly need. We’ve designed it efficiently, so we can comfortably prepare all our daily meals without feeling restricted. Living in a small space has taught us that you don’t need a big kitchen—you just need the right essentials and good planning.

Water management is also easier than most people assume. Our camper van has a 40-litre water tank, which is usually sufficient for our daily cooking and basic needs. Every day or two, we simply refill it during our travels. Across most parts of India, especially while travelling through towns and the mountains, finding drinking and utility water hasn’t been a major challenge.

Ultimately, staying fit on the road isn’t about having perfect conditions—it’s about staying disciplined. Whether we’re living in a city apartment or a tiny camper van, our commitment to fitness and clean nutrition remains exactly the same. That’s the message we want to share with our audience: a healthy lifestyle depends far more on your habits than on your surroundings.

Q5. You’ve travelled across deserts, coastlines, and mountains all over India. Which journey has been the most memorable and life-changing for you, and why?

It’s difficult to choose just one journey because, over the past one and a half years, we’ve travelled through almost every region of India, and each place has taught us something unique. This journey has made us realize one thing above all else: India is one of the most diverse and beautiful countries in the world.

From the rugged brown mountains and high-altitude passes of Ladakh to the lush green landscapes of the Northeast, from the Western Ghats to the coastlines of Kerala and the Deccan Plateau, every region has its own identity, culture, and beauty. Few countries offer such incredible diversity within a single nation.

If we had to pick a few favourites, Kerala would definitely be at the top. It has everything—beautiful beaches, mountains, rivers, forests, waterfalls, and an amazing culture. Varkala, in particular, is one of the most breathtaking coastal destinations we’ve ever visited. The peaceful cliffs overlooking the Arabian Sea make it a truly unforgettable place.

Ladakh is another destination that completely transformed us. It’s not just beautiful—it’s also one of the most challenging places to reach. Driving at altitudes above 12,000 feet, crossing some of the world’s highest motorable passes, and experiencing such raw, untouched landscapes teaches you resilience, patience, and gratitude.

Arunachal Pradesh also holds a special place in our hearts. It remains one of India’s most unexplored regions, filled with breathtaking scenery, rich tribal cultures, and an unmatched sense of peace and authenticity.

Beyond landscapes, the people have shaped our journey just as much. Maharashtra will always be close to our hearts because we met some of the kindest, most welcoming, and most helpful people there. Their warmth reminded us that the true beauty of a place often lies in its people.

More than any single destination, travelling across India has completely changed our perspective on life. We’ve realized that life is far more than simply following the same routine every day—waking up, working, coming home, sleeping, and repeating it for decades. While work and success are important, experiences, memories, relationships, and personal growth are what truly enrich our lives.

Our journey has taught us to value experiences over possessions. The mountains, the roads, the people we meet, and the lessons we learn along the way have become our greatest wealth. That’s the biggest transformation vanlife has given us, and it’s a lesson we’ll carry with us for the rest of our lives.

Q6. For a corporate audience looking at the creator economy, what do you think makes your brand so unique and highly engaging compared to a standard travel creator?

What makes our brand different is that we’re not just creating travel content—we’re living the story every single day.

Most travel creators visit a destination for a few days, stay in hotels, explore popular attractions, create content, and then return home. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, but our lifestyle is fundamentally different. Our camper van is our permanent home. We don’t just visit places—we become part of them.

Instead of spending a weekend in a destination, we often stay in one state for a month or even longer.

Q7. What is your ultimate piece of advice for young, passionate travellers who want to build a non-traditional career in the travel space?

My advice isn’t just for travellers—it’s for anyone who wants to build a life that’s true to who they are.

Life is short, and none of us takes our achievements or possessions with us in the end. What stays with us are the experiences we create, the people we meet, and the impact we leave behind. So, choose a path that genuinely excites you. If your passion is a corporate career, pursue it with everything you’ve got. If your dream is to travel, create, or build something unconventional, don’t let fear stop you. There is no single definition of success.
