SAIL Earns "Great Place to Work" Certification, Third Year Running

Executive Summary

SAIL has been certified as a Great Place to Work for 2026–2027, marking its third consecutive certification. The recognition highlights its continued focus on employee engagement, workplace safety, welfare and communication while supporting its efforts to attract skilled talent.

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), one of India's largest public sector steel makers, has been certified as the "Great Place to Work" for the period between February 2026 and February 2027 – and importantly, for the third time in a row. "The Great Place to Work" is one of the world's most respected standards of workplace culture, which is based on a survey of employees on the aspects of trust, pride, friendship and workplace experience, and not just something which any company could boast about on their own. For a heavy industry PSU with blast furnace plants and mines throughout the country, which has always been known for its strict hierarchy and difficult working conditions, getting this certification for three years in a row is a significant accomplishment.

It implies that initiatives undertaken by SAIL with regard to employee engagement, welfare, safety and communication are having their effects felt all year round instead of just making a one-time appearance during the auditing process. In an age when attracting and retaining skilled engineering and technical manpower becomes harder with competition from other private steel majors and multinational companies for the same, this is important because it bolsters the reputation of SAIL as a company of choice within the Indian steel industry despite its continued drive towards modernization, decarbonization and enhanced production efficiency.
